Que peuvent se raconter deux alpinistes lorsqu'ils se rencontrent ? Des histoires d'alpinistes bien sur ! Voici l'interview croisée réalisée au camp de base du Khan Tengri entre la star italienne et l'étoile russe.

Simone relate à Valery son accident dans l'Annapurna en janvier 1998 et l'incroyable concours de circonstances auquel il doit la vie . Ensuite il évoque avec nostalgie son compagnon de cordée Anatoli Boukreev, et la manière dont le grimpeur russo-kazak avait partagé avec lui les secrets de l'école soviétique. Depuis en sa mémoire Simone Moro a décidé de ne monter qu'avec des alpinistes de l'est. Pour finir, il explique son projet d'inviter les meilleurs grimpeurs de l'ex URSS en Italie, à l'occasion de l'année de la montagne qui sera célébrée par l'ONU en 2002.
